Scheduling and pricing.
Weekends are not available, but some exceptions may be made. Please enquire in case. The work is charged a flat fee per session. There are two options: Half day or full day. Sessions last 5 hours for full day sessions, 2.5 hours for half day sessions. Typically, days start at 10:00 and end at 3:00. Plan to arrive early.
Very small pieces may be booked differently, upon request. The amount of the down payment for each session goes towards the price of each session. Note that session includes short breaks, and any ad hoc set up, setting of the tools or work environment, additional design, drawing changes to the project, etc, not only tattooing.
The full fee of the session if due even if the project is finished early. “Design and fitting” time is booked separately from tattooing. It can usually be done remotely, TBC with the artist. The fee quoted for D&F time covers for the time used to get the design ready for the tattoo session. The preparation of the design spans usually over the full period between the design and the tattoo session. The exact modalities of the “design and fitting” process depend on the project.
One-off half day sessions are charged 1600$ and full day 3000$. Half day sessions as part of multi-session projects are charged 1500$. In some cases a budget-based project can be considered. Enquire specifically about it. Small to very small pieces may also be charged differently. A non-refundable down payment is due at booking (see last section for exceptions). Down payment value for each full day sessions is 1200usd or 600usd for half-day sessions. Remainder at the end of the session in question.
You are more than welcome to ask for a price estimate, which is given in number of sessions, but note that it remains in any case indicative and does not constitute a commitment by the artist to finish within the time indicated or to charge within the estimate. Although unlikely, rates may change between the time the session is booked and the time the session is held. In doubt, enquire first. If you work for a charity or non-profit association, please inquire as we offer special prices, as well as if you are on a federal or state benefit program. We want to work with you, if possible.

Appointment.
You are expected to be on time for the appointment. Aim to be there 15 prior to start time, If you are 15 minutes late or more without notice, the appointment may be considered cancelled and the deposit may be lost.
Once the appointment has passed, a portion or the entirety of the session fee can be required, even if you decided to not proceed with the tattoo. The nominal fee for the session booked is due even if the project is completed before the end of the time booked. If time remains, you are welcome to inquire about using the time for more work, which may or may not be possible.
In principle, only the client is allowed in the work area or studio if in a private setting. Exceptions are at the artist’s discretion. Please enquire.
—
Payment.
Cash and Venmo are preferred. Paypal Zelle/checks or transfers are possible but note that payment needs to be instant or have to have arrived prior to the session. Wire or transfer fees are the client’s responsibility. If you are unsure about payment limits on your account, have a secondary option. Bitcoins and Ethereum may be accepted, enquire first.
Tips are appreciated but not required. We encourage tipping by donating to a charity or non-profit association supporting social justice or environmental causes. Ask us for suggestions. Payment of the outstanding amount after deposit is due at the end of each session of tattooing and at the beginning of the “design and fitting session”.
Note that the in-person part of the “design and fitting” session usually only lasts around an hour, and the design is not produced then. The session is focused on deciding on the concept, placement etc. Everything the artist needs to then create the designs. The rest of the time paid for is used separately for the actual design, in the time leading up to the first tattoo appointment.

Consultation, design and execution.
Bookings are approved based on the project described at booking. We advise to keep things as open as possible and to be flexible to increase the chances of approval. Once the booking is done any change of mind must be notified and may not be approved.
The piece is discussed, designed, executed during time booked and remunerated, typically a 1 full day booking which includes the “consultation” part. Development of the design happens subsequently so that it is ready to tattoo in the following tattoo session. Modifications and changes to the design may result in additional time needed. In principle, the final design for the said day is only available on the day of the tattoo session. Previews of the design prior to each tattoo session only available at the artist’s discretion, to be discussed.

Intellectual property and usage.
First and foremost, the tattoo as it appears on you is yours as it becomes permanently part of your body image. You are allowed to display this tattoo as part of your likeness with no limitations, including any commercial use of your likeness. Having the tattoo should not limit your right to exploit and use your own image rights. What is not allowed as per the point below, is to separate the design from your likeness and exploit it as such commercially without the artist’s consent.
All designs produced in the context of the tattoo remain the artist's intellectual property and may be re-used at their discretion. If you require exclusivity on the design, “buy out” option can be discussed and subject to additional charge. You are obviously fully entitled to use the image of your tattoo as part of your own image with no limitations.
The Artist declines all responsibility to check that images or artwork brought as model for the tattoo to be used as-is without further modifications or reinterpretation by the artist are cleared to be used for commercial use. It is the Client’s sole responsibility to ensure the artwork or images they bring are cleared for usage by the Artist.

Privacy and image rights.
The studio is monitored by cctv for safety purposes.
Images and photos are frequently taken at the studio for social media use. You may appear is such images. The studio and the artist has unrestricted rights to use any image taken in the studio. Any special request questions or restrictions must be mentioned before the booking (payment of the deposit) so that it can be discussed and figured out, if possible at all.
You might be asked to have your photo taken. By agreeing, you grant Sang Bleu and/or Maxime Plescia-Buchi unrestricted right to use the images taken for promotional or editorial purposes. Any restrictions or questions must be clearly and immediately mentioned, short of which it is considered that you approve the above terms.
The studios are sometimes open spaces with other artists and clients around. Let us know beforehand or if needed during the appointment if you require enhanced privacy, such as no other person in the space, or no nudity. For your own and the artist's safety, you may still appear on CCTV, which is not to be viewed or used unless very specifically required for legal or safety purposes and remain strictly confidential.
—
Boundaries and consent.
Tattooing is a practice demanding close contact and skin contact from design to tattooing. It may be required or recommended to remove certain items of clothes in order to not interfere with the artist’s movements or to avoid cross-contamination of clothes around an area where tattooing is happening. If unsure, please feel free to ask for an explanation why certain physical contacts happen or why you are asked to remove certain clothes. Feel free to decline or state boundaries if needed, before or during the session at any point. It is always OK to enforce your boundaries and the artist must respect those. Also, should the artist mispronoun you, feel free to state or remind them of your pronouns.

Numbing cream, painkillers, aftercare, medical conditions, liability.
While We are not against the use of numbing cream, we do require that it be done by us, to ensure it’s done correctly. The time used to apply the cream and for the cream to take effect (1-2h) will typically taken from time booked and remunerated.
Note that we decline any responsibility as far as the actual numbness or any medical side effects of products used. In doubt, consult a specialist to ensure you are fit to use any medication you wish to use, and the client is responsible for the correct use of the products they provide.
The use of chemical painkillers is not recommended, and we are unable to advise on the use of those. Use at your own risks and responsibility.
Aftercare is crucial to the overall outcome of the tattoo as it affects the healing of the tattoo, which affects the way pigment will remain in place inside the skin. It is recommended to keep the bandage for 4 days, no less than 2 days. Plasma and ink may accumulate inside the bandage, it is normal. Do not try to drain the bandage. If the bandage leaks, or start peeling off a lot, remove it, clean up the tattoo with warm water and unscented soap, and get in touch with us. If you are able to, you may use seran wrap to cover the tattoo as soon as it clean to prevent scabbing. Some light irritation or itchiness is possible under the bandage, but it should remain minor. If any pain, intense irritation, itchiness or redness occurs, remove the bandage, clean up the tattoo and it should get better within a couple of hours. In doubt get in touch with us. If any fever or other symptoms seem to appear, get in touch with a medical professional immediately.
Tattooing is an invasive and intense experience. While we work in sanitary conditions, we decline any responsibility or liability as far as after effects of the procedure are concerned. If you have any doubt you may not be fit to get tattooed, please consult a medical specialist.
Tattooing is always a collaborative effort, and the final result is always the result of many factors, though the artist’s hand. Everything can be discussed and prior to the procedure, but by engaging in this project and allowing the artist to tattoo you, you understand that it will always be the artist’s interpretation of the discussions you had, that you will receive and not a projection of your own mind onto your skin. In doubt, it is always OK to ask for more explanation or opt out and so would the artist if they are not confident they can successfully transcribe the elements discussed, or suspect any reason why the procedure should not be done.

Rescheduling.
Under certain circumstances, the appointment may have to be rescheduled. We will do our best to give you at least a 48 hours notice. Deposit cannot be refunded except in the unlikely event of the tattooist having to completely cancel with no new date offered. A refund may be offered if a rescheduled appointment is needed with less than 24 hours notice.
We encourage you to notify us if you are traveling from afar and need to book tickets etc. Note, the above rescheduling terms and conditions still apply but we try to be mindful of the logistics involved in travels etc. We advise to not arrange your travels more than 2 months in advance.
The deposit is not refundable in case of cancellation. It can be kept for a new date, provided that you give at least 7 day notice and a new date has been confirmed. Under 7 day notice part or the full deposit may be lost. Only one change of date is possible. The deposit is automatically lost if the second date does not work either. If we are notified less than 72 hours prior to the appointment, the deposit will be lost and a new deposit will be required for a new appointment. Under certain circumstances, a deposit may be passed on to someone else. At the artist’s discretion.
